I thought it might be a good idea to explain shortly how to commission a drawing from yours truly (or multiple drawings).
Step 1: Make contact
Send me an e-mail or give me a call and tell me what you need; the number of pictures, the size, style and anything else of significance. To save time I would ask you to look at the pictures on one of my sites and pick out a style which appeals to you (you could point this out to me in an e-mail). This will help me estimate the price of the drawing/drawings and save both parties a lot of guesswork.
Step 2: Find the price
We negotiate a price. This will depend heavily on the type of project and available funds but in most cases a fair compromise is relatively easy to find.
Step 3: Sketch
I start sketching! The number of sketches depends somewhat on the size of the project and amount of money involved.
Step 5: Inking
I ink the drawing and send it to you for confirmation (this is the last chance to make changes to the drawing).
Step 6: Handover and payment
I color the drawing. Finalize it in the way you need it (depending on what you want to do with it) and send it over and you secure payment for the piece (on bigger projects payment might be split in two or more payments).
This is a general description of how the process works, but nothing is written in stone and almost anything is possible. I've split the process in to 6 simple steps. Please note that on smaller projects not all of these steps might be necessary.
If you have any questions at all please go ahead and send me a message.
...Oh, and don't forget to have fun!
Step 4: Your input
I send you the sketches and you tell me which ones you like and which ones you don’t and anything you’d like me to change.
Depending on your suggestions and time limits I’ll either go back to step 3 or move on to step 5.
...And that's pretty much how it goes. I'm looking forward to hearing from you!
